Alec Baldwin Keeps It Cool by Congratulating 2011 Emmy Winners
Celebrity

Although he's rumored to boycott the show, the '30 Rock' star congratulates his lucky competitor Jim Parsons and the other winners of the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards.

AceShowbiz - Alec Baldwin keeps it civil although he has made it clear that FOX's decision to remove his joke from the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards was not cool. Right after the show was over, the "30 Rock" star took to his Twitter to congratulate his lucky fellow TV stars who brought home prizes that night.

First, Alec wrote, "Who won the Emmys? Did I win? No?!! S***!" The 53-year-old actor, however, quickly followed it up with a lighter message read, "Congrats to Jim Parsons and all tonight's winners." Earlier in the day, he hoped it was Steve Carell who would win though.

Alec only got one nomination this year, thanks to his role on "30 Rock". He vied for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series along with Jim ("The Big Bang Theory"), Steve ("The Office"), Louis C.K. ("Louie"), Johnny Galecki ("Big Bang Theory"), and Matt LeBlanc ("Episodes").

He was supposed to attend the September 18 star-studded gala, but reportedly backed out of it after his joke about Rupert Murdoch and the News Corp. phone-hacking scandal was removed from the Emmy opening segment. FOX reasoned that they took the scandal seriously and "did not want to be seen as making light of" it.

In response, Alec mocked the network, "If I were enmeshed in a scandal where I hacked phones of families of innocent crime victims purely 4 profit, I'd want that 2 go away, 2." He later added another jab, "Are some companies #toobigtojail?" A few hours earlier, he wrote, "Fox did kill my NewsCorp hacking joke. Which sucks bc I think it would have made them look better. A little."

Without Alec, the opening video of Emmy Awards is still a star-studded one. It features the likes Jane Lynch, Jimmy Fallon, Eric Dane from "Grey's Anatomy", "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, as well as "Entourage" alums Jeremy Piven and Rex Lee.
