AceShowbiz - Retired baseball superstar Manny Ramirez has a run in with the law. The 2004 World Series MVP was arrested on Monday (September 12) night after an altercation with his wife. He was taken to the Broward County jail from his home in Weston, Florida on one charge of touch/strike battery.
According to police report, Manny and his wife Juliana were arguing in their bedroom when he slapped her face, causing her to hit her head on their bed's headboard. The 39-year-old former Boston Red Sox star, however, denied hitting his wife. He claimed that she struck her head "when he shrugged her."
In the report, officers on the scene noted evidence showed Manny was "the primary aggressor". It was further stated that Juliana's account was consistent with her story, but she refused medical treatment. FOX Sports additionally reported that Manny was still being held in jail as of 9:30 P.M.
Manny was one of baseball's greatest hitters. Throughout his 19-year career, he hit 555 home runs mostly with the Cleveland Indians and the Boston Red Sox. In 2009, he was suspended from the Los Angeles Dodgers after testing positive for banned substances. He retired from baseball in April this year after being tested positive a second time for PEDs.
