Bellamy Brothers Apologize for Britney's 'Hold It Against Me' Lawsuit

September 5, 2011 (4:17 am) GMT
The apology was sent to 'Hold It Against Me' masterminds, Dr. Luke and Max Martin, over the Bellamy bros' copyright infringement claim.

The battle between The Bellamy Brothers and Dr. Luke as well as Max Martin has been resolved. The duo admitted they have mistakenly accused the masterminds behind ' "Hold It Against Me" of copyright infringement, and they apologized for that.

"The Bellamy Brothers apologize to Dr. Luke and Max Martin for the Bellamys' public statements and any false impressions suggested by the statements on their website that Dr. Luke and Max Martin copy the works of others," the Bellamy bros issued a statement.

The feud was ignited by the Bellamys last January by claiming that "Hold It Against Me" was a rip-off of their song "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me". They were then sued for defamation and accused of making "a publicity stunt aimed to increase their record sales."

According to TMZ, the lawsuit has been dropped after the Bellamys offered the public apology.
