The Florida Attorney General's Office decided not to pursue the case against the singer who finished eight on season 5 of 'American Idol' after reviewing the information and evidence presented.

AceShowbiz - Bucky Covington is no longer staring down grand-theft charges. The singer who finished eight on season 5 of "American Idol" has been cleared from all charges that were made against him stemming from an incident after a concert at the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond Beach, Florida back in June.

The Florida Attorney General's Office recently revealed that they will not pursue the case. "After a review of the information and evidence presented, the prosecutor determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove the charges against Mr. Covington beyond a reasonable doubt at trial," they said in a statement.

It was uncovered in July that a promoter has filed a police report against Bucky, accusing him of stealing $1,500. According to TMZ, the 33-year-old singer was hired to perform for a July 4 NASCAR race week celebration, but when the promoter was rushed to a nearby hospital, he told his brother and his brother's wife to pocket money from the cash register.

Bucky has vehemently denied the allegation. Speaking to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the "I Want My Life Back" singer insisted, "It's absolutely and completely false. The promoter didn't have his fingers together. He did not pay people. I didn't get paid."
