Introduced by lead actress Jennifer Lawrence, the clip follows Katniss Everdeen as she is running in the woods while Gale Hawthorne's voice is echoing in her head.

AceShowbiz - "The Hunger Games" sneak peek has been debuted exclusively at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, showing an intense scene from the movie. It gives a look at Katniss Everdeen running in the woods as she is trying to survive the deadly games.

Katniss' friend Gale Hawthorne helps pump up her spirit during the competition as his voice echoes in her head. "Listen to me, You're stronger than they are. You are. They just want a good show. That's all they want. You know how to hunt. Show them how good you are," he tells her. The clip ends with Katniss unleashing an arrow from her bow.

The clip was introduced by the Katniss depiter, Jennifer Lawrence, but she did not appear in person. "I wish I could be at the VMAs in person, but I'm in North Carolina filming 'The Hunger Games'," she said in a taped footage. "Like so many of you, I'm a huge fan of these books, and I can't wait to share the movie with you in March."

"The Hunger Games" is adapted from Suzzane Collins' best-selling novel with the same title. It revolves around 16-year-old Katniss who lives with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, in the apocalyptic America. When her sister is chosen by lottery to participate in a fight-to-the-death annual event called the Hunger Games, Katniss steps up to take over her place.

Joining Lawrence in the cast ensemble are Liam Hemsworth who will play Gale, and Josh Hutcherson who take the role as Peeta Mellark. Gary Ross serves behind the lens of this action drama movie, which is set to open wide in U.S. cinemas on March 23, 2012. Its sequel called "Catching Fire" is already lined up for 2013 Thanksgiving weekend release, on November 22 to be exact.
