The 'Watch the Throne' duo make a grand entrance on the U.S. album chart by sitting at the top spot with 436,000 copies sold.

AceShowbiz - The hard works Kanye West and Jay-Z did for their joint album including fighting hackers have finally paid off. Their mega duet "Watch the Throne" has soared to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 by selling more than 436,000 copies in its opening week.

The huge number places the two rappers right behind Lady GaGa as a musical act with the second-largest sales week of the year. The Mother Monster still holds the record with her latest studio installment "Born This Way" which bowed 1.1 million last July.

In addition, Kanye and Jigga broke best first-week digital record held by Coldplay. Back in 2008, the Chris Martin-fronted band scored the accolade by garnering 282,000 iTunes downloads of their album "Viva La Vida", but now the MCs outdo them by shifting 321,000 downloads.

There are three other new entries on the chart besides "Watch the Throne". Luke Bryan lands at No. 2 with "Tailgates & Tanlines" (145,000), the latest "Now" compilation enters just behind the country album by sitting at No. 3 (110,000), and Ace Hood debuts at No. 8 with "Blood, Sweat & Tears" (26,000).

The former champs Adele and Eric Church move down to rounding up the top 5. The former who was atop the chart for multiple non-consecutive weeks occupies the fourth place with her "21" (73,000). The former who sat at the penthouse just last week has to give it up and settle at the fifth with "Chief" (37,000).
