'We had a great history with Amy. She was very near and dear to us,' says executive producer for the MTV Video Music Awards.

Organizers for 2011 MTV Video Music Awards have been "talking about acknowledging" when the show is televised live at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on August 28. "We had a great history with Amy," VMAs executive producer Amy Doyle told Billboard. "She was very near and dear to us."

Last month one day after Winehouse was cremated, MTV paid homage to the late singer by broadcasting a special tribute concert which was stuffed with her rarely-seen performances from the year of 2007 when she was at the height of her superstardom.

For MTV, Winehouse will not be the only artist who gets tribute. They will also salute . "[She] will be at the show and we'll be paying tribute to her," Doyle gushed.
