's death affects the digital sale of her albums and songs. Hours after it was reported that she was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, July 23 afternoon, "" topped the iTunes chart while the video for the album's lead single, "Rehab", jumped to number 10.

When it was first released, the 2007 album went straight to number one in more than 15 countries. Stateside, it climbed to number 2 on Billboard Hot 200 chart and earned six Grammy nominations in 2008. Meanwhile, the single made it to the top 10 of Billboard Hot 100 and has been sold more than a million units.

Beside the singer's sudden death, the reason there's an increase of sale on iTunes and Amazon is perhaps the obituaries-like display on the digital pages. Apple's store put up "Remembering Amy Winehouse" with a link to her for-sale music catalog while Amazon gave a link to her albums and singles with the headline "Read more about Amy Winehouse."
