Stars React to the Death of Amy Winehouse

Mark Ronson, Tony Bennett, Kelly Osbourne, Ronnie Wood and many more passed their condolences to the tragic singer in various ways.

AceShowbiz - Amy Winehouse's death is mourned by many artists and public figures from various fields who regret the fact that such talent went to waste. Mark Ronson who has collaborated with her numerous times, tweeted, "She was my musical soulmate & like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life."

Tony Bennett was the last singer to work with her in a studio back in March. "She was an extraordinary musician with a rare intuition as a vocalist and I am truly devastated that her exceptional talent and has come to such an early end," he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, producer Salaam Remi who worked on her albums said on Twitter, "Very, very sad day. Just lost a great friend and a sister. RIP my baby sis Cherry Winehouse. Love ya always." Fellow Brit Lily Allen tweeted, "It's just beyond sad, there's nothing else to say. She was such a lost soul, may she rest in peace."

Amy's bestfriend Kelly Osbourne said, "I can't even breathe right now I'm crying so hard. I just lost one of my best friends. I love you forever Amy and will never forget the real you!" Burlesque dancer Dita von Teese recalled, "Devastated. I spent extraordinary times with Amy. She sang for me once for hours, it was the most beautiful and touching thing. A huge loss."

"She definitely brought back a lot of soul to mainstream, and it's really unfortunate to see her go, but I think she'll live on in other artists who will follow [with] the same soul," Darren Criss, member of "Glee" which has used her song on the show, said.

Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones dedicated his radio show and Saturday, July 23 live performance to Amy. "It's a very sad loss of a very good friend I spent many great times with," he said. Meanwhile, American columnist and film critic Richard Roeper pointed out how Amy joins the list of great stars who died at 27. "Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Kurt Cobain and now Amy Winehouse: all died at 27," he tweeted.

Amy was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday afternoon. Autopsy result is not due to be released until Sunday and police have asked the public not to speculate that the death is related to drugs which Amy has been battling. Calling it "desperately sad news", Piers Morgan wrote, "Supreme talent, terrible self-destructive addictive personality."
