Spartacus fights Roman armies in the preview for second season of the drama fantasy series, while a sneak peek to next episodes of 'Torchwood' season 4 sees a war coming.

AceShowbiz - Some pictures and a promo video to "Spartacus: Vengeance" were unleashed earlier this month, but actual footage from the second season has just made its way out at Comic Con panel on Friday, July 22. Holding his sword to face off Roman armies on horses, Liam McIntyre's Spartacus leads a movement to freedom. He is clearly seen still angry about what happened to his wife.

As the new Spartacus depicter, McIntyre was greeted with huge cheer when coming out on the stage with co-star Lucy Lawless. Asked about how he feels taking over the role from Andy Whitfield, McIntyre humbly said, "It's a great privily, a great honor, it's a great responsibility... Everyone can agree Andy was amazing. The best thing I can do is bust my ass and honor that legacy trying to make season 2 as amazingly as exciting as season 1."

Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, who also joined the panel, spilled, "There's one episode where we kill a lot of people. It's a gigantic season." He went on explaining, "In season 2, Spartacus learns how to be a leader. He goes from a guy with an axe to grind to being a leader. But the season is called Vengeance, and he's not the only one who's out for it."

DeKnight revealed it is Lucretia who will be brought up by Spartacus on his vengeance. Chiming in about her character, Lawless said Lucretia is bereft after having lost her husband and her child, but she is going to "claw her way back to some platform of power."

Earlier the same day, Starz also held a panel for its other series "Torchwood: Miracle Day" which was premiered on July 8. The stars John Barrowman and Eve Myles came with a teaser for the upcoming episodes, which hints there will be a war coming.

Sharing more what can be expected in this fourth season of "Torchwood", executive producer Jane Espenson said there will be dark moments despite lightness and humor in the first episode. "The thing I love about love about it is that it can go to light and incredibly dark places," she gushed.

"If you are feeling hungry for dark chocolate and are getting milk chocolate, just wait for episode 5." Espenson added, "Look for little more flexibility with the timeline, more romance, a lot more darkness, more losses. Look for big implications." Spilling another detail, Mekhi Phifer hinted that his character Rex would find romance by saying, "You will see some butt cheeks and things like that."
