Ryan Gosling Gets Brutal in Red Band Trailer of 'Drive'
Movie

A Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver finds his life taking a deadly turn after agreeing to help the husband of his beautiful neighbor.

AceShowbiz - After making its debut at San Diego Comic Con 2011, a red band trailer for "Drive" finds its way out online via IGN. Filled with adrenaline-pumping scenes, this sneak peek at the Nicolas Winding Refn-directed movie teases how brutal Ryan Gosling can be in his lead role as a Hollywood stunt driver by day and a getaway driver by night.

Moonlighting as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld, Gosling's character finds himself a target for some of Los Angeles most dangerous men after agreeing to help the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene. When the job goes dangerously awry, he has to put his skills to the test to save not only himself but also Irene and her young son.

When speaking of the casting at the Comic Con's panel for FilmDistrict, Refn recalled his first meeting with Gosling. "I was completely out of it after taking American drugs and couldn't really talk to him properly when I met him at his restaurant," he said. "I eventually asked him to drive me home because I couldn't face getting a cab."

"We got into the car to drive to Santa Monica, turned on the radio and it was Reo Speedwagon playing 'Can't Fight This Feeling'! I started singing along to it, badly, and also crying," he continued. "Then I just screamed, 'I got it! I know what 'Drive' is! It's a man who drives around at night listening to pop music and that's his emotional release!' "

"Drive" was first premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. With Hossein Amini penning the script, this action thriller has Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman and Christina Hendricks in the cast ensemble. It is set for a U.S. release on September 16.
