First Footage and Photos of 'Spartacus: Vengeance' Debuted

Liam McIntyre's title character delivers his monologue in the teaser and holds his sword for a fight in the pictures.

San Diego Comic Con is still a week away, but Starz has shared sneak peeks to ": Vengeance". A teaser for the second season of the action drama series has landed online, and three photos made their way out via Entertainment Weekly, giving the first look at as the new Spartacus.

"We will face the hordes of Rome again... and the Gods shall weep for their suffering," so says the title character who stares intensely to the camera in the footage. The rebel gladiator is seen in action in one of the pictures and facing off another man in another shot. The other photo, meanwhile, captures him shirtless and holding a sword in each of his hands.

Previously called "Spartacus: Blood and Sand", "Spartacus: Vengeance" will head to 2011 Comic Con on Friday, July 22. Liam McIntyre and are set to attend the panel with executive producer Steven S. DeKnight.

The second season will premiere in January 2012 on Starz.
