AceShowbiz - "Mad Men" is having a chance to grab Outstanding Drama kudo for the fourth time in a row at the upcoming 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards. This year, the AMC acclaimed drama show is nominated in the category along with "Boardwalk Empire", "Dexter", "Friday Night Lights", "The Good Wife" and freshman "Game of Thrones".
The Jon Hamm-starrer leads the TV series pack with 18 other nominations, including Outstanding Actor for Hamm, Outstanding Actress for Elisabeth Moss and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Christina Hendricks. Hamm and Hendricks were nominated in these same categories last year, but lost the titles to other contenders.
Trailing behind "Mad Men" is "Boardwalk Empire" with 18 nominations in total. Also grabbing multiple nods are such comedy series as "Modern Family", "Glee", "The Big Bang Theory", "The Office" and "30 Rock".
Meanwhile, scoring the most nominations overall is "Mildred Pierce" with 21 nods. It is named among Outstanding Miniseries or Movie nominees, while the leading lady Kate Winslet is eying Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie kudo.
The 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 18 and broadcast live by FOX from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Serving as the host is Jane Lynch who also gets nominated for her role on "Glee".
