AceShowbiz - Grammy nominated singer Jewel Kilcher and bull rider husband Ty Murray are officially first time parents. Their baby boy, named Kase Townes Murray was born in Texas on Monday, July 11 at 7 P.M., weighing 7 lbs. and 6 oz.
"Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world," Jewel said in a statement posted on her site. "We are overcome with happiness - it really is as great as everyone told us it would be - better even!"
Ty and Jewel first revealed that they were having a boy in January. We would have been happy either way, of course, but we are so excited to be having a little boy," she said a few weeks after announcing the pregnancy.
So excited of the new addition that Jewel had written a song for the baby before he was born. "I've actually been writing songs for him. I wrote an album called 'Lullaby' when I was trying to get pregnant, and now that I am pregnant, I'm writing a children's record so it's really been fun to write things that your children will wanna hear, and thinking what will be a fun story," she said.
The couple had been trying to conceive for two years before getting pregnant. They got married in 2008 in the Bahamas.
