San Diego Comic Con 2011: Selected Movie Panels on Sunday
Following last year's pattern, the last day of San Diego Comic Con 2011 is all about kids. With the 8th annual San Diego International Children's Film Festival being kicked off on Sunday, July 24, about 60 short films from around the world are brought to the convention in a presentation that runs from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.
"Tom and Jerry & The Wizard of Oz", which will be available on Blu-Ray Combo Pack and DVD on August 23, will be premiered in a screening taking place at Room 6A. Eleven-year-old animator and child film critic Perry Chen will participate in "The Holocaust Through the Eyes of a Child, Animated by a Child" panel which will bring forward his work "Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest" as a topic of discussion.
The final day of this year's Comic Con is also filled with education programs such as the fourth day of comprehensive course on micro-budget moviemaking class which will focus on the post production and distribution. Meanwhile, comic artists are set to show up and discuss dynamic storytelling, filmmaking, and creating characters in the mediums of animation and comics in a panel held in Room 4 on 11:00 A.M.

San Diego International Children's Film Festival - The opening of the 8th annual San Diego International Children's Film Festival are supported by more than 60 short films from around the world - animation, live action, and documentary - that are great for film fans of all ages. Animators, filmmakers and actors will appear throughout the day to talk about their work and give advice on education and creative careers in film and animation. Room 9.
10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Comic-Con Film School 104: Post Production and Distribution - The final day of comprehensive course on micro-budget moviemaking will revolve around what to do after your movie is shot. Panelists for the class include Valerie Perez (producer/star of the "Paula Peril" series), Vera Vanguard (writer/producer of "Goth Girl"), Edward G. Negron (director of "Safehouse"), Jack Conway (writer/producer of "Fear News"), and Sean Rourke (writer of "Ballistica"). Marriott Hall 2, Marriott Marquis & Marina.
11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Wearing Two Capes: Storyboard Artists Who Moonlight as Comic Artists - Kevin Altieri ("Batman: The Animated Series"), Gary Hartle ("Ultimate Avengers"), Dell Barras ("G.I. Joe: Renegades"), Jeff Wamester ("Ultimate Spider-Man"), Justin Copeland ("Ultimate Spider-Man"), and moderator Frank Forte ("The Super Hero Squad Show") discuss dynamic storytelling, filmmaking, and creating characters in the mediums of animation and comics. Room 4.
11:05-11:55 A.M. CCI-IFF Awards Presentation - Comic-Con's Gary Sassaman talks to this year's trio of judges, Michael Gross (art director, producer, Heavy Metal, Ghostbusters), Eric Vespe ("Quint" on Ain't It Cool News), and the producer of last year's CCI-IFF Judges' Choice and Best Documentary award-winner and Kevin Walsh ("Marwencol"), about this year's films. 1:40-5:00 P.M. CCI-IFF Award Winners Showcase - Stay tuned for an afternoon of great indie entertainment as the CCI-IFF rescreens the award-winning films from this year's Festival! Marriott Hall 2, Marriott Marquis & Marina.
2:00-3:00 P.M. Max Brooks: Zombie Survival 101 - Max Brooks, screenwriter and author of bestselling books "The Zombie Survival Guide", "World War Z", and "The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks" will share his insight into the rotting minds of the undead, reveal how the Zombie Survival Guide came into existence, and field questions from zombie-phobic fans. Room 7AB.
2:00-4:00 P.M. Browncoats - Fans of "Firefly" and "Serenity" are welcome to join the California Browncoats. You can expect announcements about new happenings from all over the 'Verse', including shindigs, products, and "Browncoats: Redemption". Then stick around for some entertainment provided by Browncoat-friendly musician Marian Call. Room 32AB.
3:00-4:00 P.M. Keenspot 2011: Vampires and Zombies and the Moon! - Creators scheduled to appear include Benny Powell ("Wayward Sons"), Brion Foulke ("Flipside"), John Joseco ("The Lounge"), David Campiti ("Exposure"), R.C. Monroe ("Out There"), and tentatively, writer/director Jay Weisman ("Shockwave Darkside"). Additionally, Aimee Schoof, co-producer of the upcoming shot-in-3D war on the moon feature film "Shockwave Darkside" as well as the movie adaptation of the Keenspot webcomic "Last Blood", will bring previews and announcements about both projects. Room 4.
3:30-4:30 P.M. Tom and Jerry & The Wizard of Oz Premiere Screening - Be among the first Munchkins to see the live premiere screening of this unforgettable adventure as Tom and Jerry join Dorothy, Toto, and other beloved characters in a new animated retelling of the classic tale. Room 6A.
3:45-4:45 P.M. The Holocaust Through the Eyes of a Child, Animated by a Child - Two-time Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton, 11-year-old prodigy animator and child film critic Perry Chen, his producer mother Dr. Zhu Shen, Karina Bessoudo (Toon Boom Animation), and director Kevin Sean Michaels share insight and a sneak preview of the film "Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest" and the cross-generational collaboration that was formed to create it. The panel, moderated by Pat Swinney Kaufman and Lloyd Kaufman, will also present screening of a trailer for the new documentary on animator Bill Plympton, "Adventures in Plymptoons". Room 5AB.
