Steven Spielberg's 'War Horse' Looks Dramatic in First Trailer

A touching story of friendship between a horse and a young man is set against the backdrop of World War I in this drama movie.

An international trailer for "" has made its way out on the web, teasing the movie as a potential tearjerker. It is filled with scenes of man talking softly about some beautiful experiences, young men on battlefield, and interactions between a horse and several characters, which are set to rousing score by John Williams.

Coming from director Steven Spielberg, the movie presents an epic adventure of a horse named Joey who bonds with a young man called Albert who tames and trains him. They are forcefully parted when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War I, while Albert heads to France to save his friend.

Joey moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets-British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter. The film is based on Michael Morpurgo's novel of the same title.

stars as Albert with , Benedict Cumberpatch, Patrick Kennedy, , , , and Peter Mullan joining the cast ensemble. "War Horse" will open wide in U.S. theaters on December 28, just in time for Christmas and New Year holiday.



UPDATE (July 29, 2011 04:01 A.M.): DreamWorks Pictures has debuted an official trailer of "War Horse". It contains scenes which are similar to the ones in the international trailer, but includes a green band in the opening and does not feature Spanish subtitle.
