AceShowbiz - Kate Winslet is allegedly set to star in Jason Reitman's forthcoming project, "Labor Day". The 35-year-old beauty is going to play Adele, a lonely single mother, in the big screen adaptation of Joyce Maynard's book.

Additionally, Josh Brolin is said joining the drama thriller flick. According to Entertainment Weekly, the "True Grit" actor will portray "an escape convicted murderer who takes refuge" with Adele and her son Henry.

Set in the early '80s, "Labor Day" opens with divorced, depressed Adele shopping with Henry. Suddenly, a bleeding man named Frank approaches Henry and seeks for a help. Over the next days, Henry learns some of life's most valuable lessons.

This film is the second relationship-based drama for Winslet. Previously, she starred in "Revolutionary Road". She will next be seen taking the role of Dr. Erin Mears in "Contagion". As for Brolin, he will next appear in "Men In Black 3", starring opposite Will Smith.
