'I don't shirk any of my civic responsibilities,' says the 'Sex and the City' actress when asked to clarify report that she was complaining when she came to Manhattan federal court for a jury duty.

AceShowbiz - Contrary to report, Sarah Jessica Parker doesn't mind spending her time for some jury duty. The "Sex and the City" star got called for the civic service on Monday, June 13, but was reportedly complaining to another prospective panelist that she had better things to do than going to Manhattan federal court.

The New York Post claimed to overhear the 46-year-old wife of Matthew Broderick griping that her daughter is "at home sick". It was also reported that the "New Year's Eve" actress said she had an "international flight" on Tuesday and fretted that the fraud case being tried might last more than two days.

When contacted by the Post's Bruce Golding, she however insisted that she is "ready, willing and able to serve". While confirming that one of her twin daughters has a fever, she denied she has travel plans. In the phone interview, she also noted she "never once raised" her hand before adding, "I don't shirk any of my civic responsibilities."
