Cudi tries a new genre in 'Perfect Is the World', and smokes a lot of sticky green in the documentary-styled music video directed by the 'Transformers' actor.

AceShowbiz - Kid Cudi has given the first taste of his rock album project in a song called "Perfect Is the World". In his first foray into rock music world, the "Day 'N Nite" hitmaker drops a melancholy message to his fans, "Don't cry for me, it is my destiny to be who I am/ I won't run away, cowards run away."

For those who keep wailing over his departure from the rap scene, Cudi wrote on his Twitter, "If you want my old s***, buy my old albums .... Im moving forward, all w/ me LETS GO! Life is about evolving, which is why im successful." The rapper-turned-rocker added, "people acting like im on the radio or something ha i make tribeca film festival s*** lol."

In addition to the rock track, Cudi has also premiered a music video for his "Man on the Moon II : The Legend of Mr. Rager" track called "Marijuana". Directed by "Transformers" actor Shia Labeouf, the documentary-styled clip sees Cudi and his pals smoking weeds in numerous occasions. Travis Barker and David Guetta make an appearance in it.

Cudi is currently finishing his new studio project with his rock band 2 Be Continuum. He previously called the band Wizard, but changed it after finding many groups with the same name on iTunes. He will release the album under his own label, Wicked Awesome Records, which he formed with producer Dot Da Genius.

In addition to working on the music project, Cudi has also made music for "Fright Night" soundtrack. "New KiD CuDi & Dot jam featured in Fright Night, called 'No One Believes Me'...cinema. Look out for the soundtrack and video soon," it was announced on Twitter.
