CW Renews 'One Tree Hill' and 'Nikita', Cancels 'Hellcats'

In addition to revealing the fate of these three shows, the network also picks up new series such as 'Ringer', 'The Secret Life' and 'The Frame' for an upcoming season.

The CW has decided the fate of three bubble shows. Long-running "" is brought back for a ninth season, and freshman "" gets renewed for a second season. Meanwhile, the network pulls the plug on struggling newbie "".

In its pickup spree, The CW has just given a greenlight to "" starring as a woman taking over her wealthy identical twin sister's life which turns out to be as complicated and dangerous as her own life. The thriller was initially developed for CBS but did not make it to the eye's line-up for upcoming season.

The CW also picks up "Secret Circle", which is based on the book series by "" author L.J. Smith, and comedic drama "". The former features as a young woman who discovers that she is a witch and part of a secret coven, while the latter revolves around 's character, a young doctor who inherits a medical practice in a small Southern town inhabited by an eclectic and eccentric people.

Other new shows that have been picked up by the network are reality series "Re-Modeled", "The Frame" and "". "Re-Modeled" follows modeling veteran Paul Fisher's effort to empower small-town agents and models to take control of their careers and their lives.

On "H8R", celebrities will try to win the heart of civilians who hate them. As for "The Frame", it will see 10 teams being isolated from the outside world and living in a single room while they are facing challenges, competitions and eliminations controlled by viewers.

The CW is expected to announce its official 2011-2012 schedule on Thursday, May 19.
