Lady GaGa, First Person to Get 10 Million Plus Twitter Followers

In the days leading to her new single 'Hair' release, the Mother Monster has been talking personally about the song on the microblogging site.

has passed 10 million mark on Twitter over the weekend, retaining her status as the microblogging site's user with most followers. The "Born This Way" singer has held the number 1 spot since August 2010.

GaGa reached the milestone on Sunday, May 15 night while she was in London. She celebrated it by tweeting photo of herself in the U.K. capital, surrounded by black and white paparazzi. In a tweet she said, "10 MillionMonsters!" she wrote. "I'm speechless, we did it! It's an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling."

meanwhile is on her tail with 9,673,577 when she reached the amazing 10,059,508 followers. These two have been pitted against each other in terms of Twitter followers and Bieber is expected to catch up with GaGa who is now favored due to heavy promotional appearances and her new album's impending release.

GaGa's latest single "Hair" has been personally announced on Twitter in the past few days. The track would be officially released on Monday, May 16 at 1 P.M. PT / 4 P.M. ET on iTunes.
