TV

The couple does walk down the aisle, but at the end of the two-hour finale they are yet to be bound in a marriage.

AceShowbiz - After ten seasons, "Smallville" finally bid farewell to its fans on Friday, May 13 with a two-hour finale. Clark and Lois' wedding was probably the most anticipated one, but the show had a tear-jerker moment when the twosome proclaimed their wedding vows.

"I, Clark Kent, take you, Lois Lane, to be my companion, forever," Clark reads his vow. "With you by my side I will never be alone. Though the world sees a strong and independent woman, I've never known someone with such gentle grace and more pure heart. When I've been lost you've always been there to bring me back, so on this day, at this moment, I pledge the rest of my life to you."

"I wanted these vows to be perfect, but perfection is a hard thing to get your hands on," Lois starts when reading her part. "Clark, I can not imagine spending a moment of my life without you. I promise that I will always have your back, as you will always have mine. You're my best friend, you're my home, and you are my true love, and I am yours and will be forever."

Aside from the drama, the show had its action as the planet Apocalypse arrives and Lex returns with a heart given by his father Lionel. Clark goes to the Luthor mansion and meets Lex who tells him that he will always be Clark's nemesis. Clark then visits the Fortress of Solitude, and is given the Superman identity after talking to Jor-El.

Facing off Lex is Tess who eventually gets stabbed. But she has been prepared to make her best move to fight Lex, being armed with a neurotoxin which will erase all the past memories of Lex thirty seconds after absorption through the skin. As the previous life of Lex passes before his eyes, Clark is experiencing the same revelations which creates the superhero he is.

Meanwhile, Clark comes in time to save the world by moving the planet Apocalypse away from the Earth which in turn releases the hold of the darkness on the people of Earth. As the battle ends with a victory over the evil, Chloe is seen having finished reading a bedtime story about Superman to her son.

Later, the scene sees a life in Metropolis with several twisted things. As an example, Jimmy Olson is now a reporter for the Daily Planet. And another which might make fans a bit disappointed is that Clark and Lois are seen playing similar roles but are not yet married.
