Hours after pleading no contest in her jewelry theft case, the troubled actress releases a statement saying that she supports the judge's decision to let her jail sentence stand at 120 days.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan is content with Judge Stephanie Sautner's decision to let the 120-day jail sentence she got for violating probation back in April stand in her jewelry theft case. On Wednesday, May 11, hours after entering a no contest plea to misdemeanor theft via her lawyer, the troubled young actress issued a statement regarding the sentencing.
"I am glad to be able to put this past me and move on with my life and my career," said the 24-year-old. "I support the judge's decision and hold myself accountable for being in this situation. I have already started my community service at the Downtown Women's Center and thank everyone there for their warm welcome."
The "Gotti: Three Generations" actress continued on, "I hope to be able to fulfill my obligation without any press attention. I think the media spotlight should be on issues such as homelessness and domestic violence instead of on me." Her lawyer Shawn Holley added, "Lindsay and I would both like to thank Judge Sautner and t he L.A. City Attorney's Office for their fair handling of this case."
Lindsay has been told she has until June 17 to surrender to the Lynwood Jail. Due to jail overcrowding and other reasons, she will likely serve her sentence under house arrest or with an electronic monitoring program. Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore was cited as saying, "It appears a person like Ms. Lohan will be eligible for home detention."
Judge Stephanie Sautner has said in court she would not oppose the house arrest decision. "Any early release on house arrest seems to be a triple bonus. (But) I am not about to battle the Sheriff. I do order that while under house arrest she is not allowed out to do community service," so the judge said on Wednesday.
In another news, People magazine reported that Lindsay failed a random alcohol test one month after she was released from the Betty Ford treatment center. According to a probation report, she was tested positive for alcohol in February, just a week after her assistant gave the allegedly stolen $2,500 necklace to the LAPD.
It was also noted that the "Mean Girls" actress indeed drank alcohol on the night she had a scuffle with a Betty Ford employee in December. The report further noted, "The probation officer believes that substance abuse is the root of the defendant's problems." Judge Stephanie Sautner, however, disagreed with the assessment. She added, "She has other problems and I believe she self-medicates."
