Rob Marshall and Johnny Depp Reunite in 'The Thin Man' Reboot

'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' helmer Rob Marshall will direct Johnny Depp once again in the remake of the 1934 film, admitting that he is 'overjoyed' to work with the actor once more.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. Pictures has made it official that "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" director Rob Marshall will helm "The Thin Man" remake. Accordingly, Marshall will once again work with Johnny Depp, who stars as Nick Charles, in the forthcoming movie.

Through a press release, Marshall expressed his enthusiasm about working with Depp. The "Nine" director said, "John and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project."

"We are also thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers as Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story."

In addition to serving behind the lens, Marshall will also team up with John DeLuca and Depp to produce the upcoming movie. Christi Dembrowski of Infinitum Nihil and Kevin McCormick of Langley Park Pictures serve as the producers as well.

Serving as a reboot for 1934's film of the same name, "The Thin Man" follows Charles, a former detective who, along with his wife Nora, parties too much but ends up investigating a case. Jerry Stahl will write the script for the comedy crime movie.
