Many Hollywood stars from Oprah Winfrey to Demi Lovato have made use of their Twitter to share their thoughts on the news that the al-Qaeda leader has been killed in a ground operation.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and many other Hollywood celebrities are rejoicing over the death of the world's most wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden. On Sunday night, May 1, President Obama confirmed through a televised press conference that the al-Qaeda leader has been killed in a ground operation, and it didn't take long for the stars to voice their mind through Twitter.

26-year-old Katy let out her excitement about the news in a series of tweets. "AMERICA F*** YEAH, HERE TO SAVE THE MOTHER F***IN DAY YEAH! #necessaryusageoftheFbombday," she wrote. "I believe in justice... but don't u think that an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind?...But in general (& then after this I'll go back to being an opinion less popstar) It is a GREAT day 4 America & I'm PROUD 2 b an American!"

GaGa posted a subtler tweet, "Watching CNN, what a historical moment in the fight against hatred." Meanwhile, Demi Lovato declared her love to USA and added, "We made history today.... Wow..... #isupportthetroups." Lindsay Lohan expressed her support by tweeting, "Go USA!", and so did Ryan Seacrest.

Model-turned-TV personality Tyra Banks shared, "My brother has been a US soldier for over twenty years. Today I salute him and all of our brave, selfless miltary women and men," while talk show host Oprah Winfrey tweeted, "Does this mean the war is over?", and Nicky Hilton wrote, "God bless our troops! We love you! Thank you for keeping us safe."

Other celebrities praised the President for his speech. Neil Patrick Harris wrote, "Everyone is sitting around my living room, mouths agape. Wow, what a night. Thank you, Mr. President, for such an eloquent speech," Khloe Kardashian tweeted, "I loved our Presidents speech. May God bless us all!", and LeBron James noted, "#WoW!! Obama words are earth moving and inspiring."

Addressing the country from the East Room of the White House, President Obama announced, "Tonight I can report to the American people and the world, the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children."

The U.S. president detailed in his speech, "A small team of American commandos killed bin Laden and took custody of his body. His demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace." He called the death of Osama "the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat al-Qaeda." He additionally mentioned, "We give thanks to the men who carried out this operation."
