AceShowbiz - Just hours after hundreds of British military made their practice run for the royal wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton have attended their own final rehearsal. On Wednesday night, April 28, the British royal and his fiancee arrived at Westminster Abbey to run through their Friday, April 29 wedding.
Multiple news reported the couple arrived at around 7:30 P.M. in a chauffeur-driven Range Rover. People Magazine, in particular, detailed that 28-year-old William wore a charcoal grey suit, while his 29-year-old fiancee opted to go with a black dress. Upon their arrival, the two were ushered into a side entrance.
Best man Prince Harry and Kate's sister Pippa Middleton, who serves as the maid of honor, joined the pair for the last rehearsal. They reportedly arrived in a silver van. The elder prince's rep at St. James' Palace noted that Kate's parents, Michael and Carole, were also in attendance. They reportedly practiced the ceremony inside for about 90 minutes.
Several onlookers shared what they have seen when William and his party were making their way into the cathedral. Cindy Rockwell from Lake Oswego, Ore. told People Magazine, "Everything came to a halt. Then the crowd just surged forward. There were so many people that you could hardly even move; everyone was trying to see them."
Another witness, Carolyn Houghton from Medford, Ore., shared, "It was really surreal. In America, the crowd would have been screaming. But here, everyone was very quiet and orderly. But I do wish they would have stopped and waved for a minute."
The royal wedding will unravel Friday morning. According to Yahoo! News, event organizers have arranged for signal-blocking technology to be installed at Westminster Abbey to ensure that the ceremony will be Twitter free. The blocking technology will take effect for the entirety of the ceremony to avoid risk of guests using their phones to send out information.
