L.A. Premiere of 'Madea's Big Happy Family' Attracted Stars
Movie

It was attended by the movie's cast such as Bow Wow, David Mann, Cassi Davis, Tamela Mann and Lauren London as well as guests like Quinton Aaron and Naturi Naughton.

AceShowbiz - With "Madea's Big Happy Family" to be released this Friday, April 22 in theaters nationwide, Tyler Perry was out to promote the film in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He was supported by a lot of celebrities such as Bow Wow, Mario, Keke Palmer, Isaiah Mustafa, Teyana Taylor and Quinton Aaron among others.

Perry talked to MTV during the red carpet segment, revealing why the Madea franchise is still alive. "The people, they won't let it go," Perry said. "They won't let it go. I got about a million messages on my message board of people saying how much they love it, so as long as people want to see it, I'll keep doing it."

This time, Madea receives distressing news about Shirley's health. All her niece Shirley wants is to gather her three adult children around her and share the news as a family. But Tammy, Kimberly and Byron are too distracted by their own problems: Tammy can't manage her unruly children or her broken marriage; Kimberly is gripped with anger and takes it out on her husband; and Byron, after spending two years in jail, is under pressure to deal with drugs again.

It's up to Madea, with the help of the equally rambunctious Aunt Bam, to gather the clan together and make things right the only way she knows how: with a lot of tough love, laughter and the revelation of a long-buried family secret.

On the same day, Perry also attended a press conference in Beverly Hills, Calif., addressing his situation with Spike Lee. "I'm so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee," Perry told Box Office Magazine. "Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me, I am sick of him saying, 'this is a coon, this is a buffoon.' I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: 'you vote by what you see,' as if black people don't know what they want to see. ...Spike needs to shut the hell up!"
