Movie

The footage, released on April 2 during WonderCon, reveals scenes where Daniel Craig's Jake Lonergan attempts to defeat aliens who invade the Earth.

AceShowbiz - New "Cowboys and Aliens" footage has been debuted at WonderCon on Saturday, April 2. The nine-minute footage of the forthcoming movie sees Jake Lonergan and Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde becoming allies to beat aliens that raid the Earth.

One clip shows Daniel Craig walking into a building and revealing a bleeding wound which he tries to clean. Then, Clancy Brown's Meacham comes up behind him with a gun, saying that people who are shot are "criminals and victims". Unable to get Lonergan's identity, Meacham asks, "What do you know?" and receives "English" as a reply.

Another scene sees Harrison Ford's Dolarhyde and his men having tied a man behind a horse. He accuses the tied man of blowing up cows. As he does not believe what the man says, Dolarhyde sends the horse dragging the man behind it to his death.

Another video follows Lonergan who is locked up, and Olivia Wilde's Ella who asks him where he comes from. The video jumps to another scene where Lonergan and Dolarhyde stand in the street at night when a spacecraft flies to the town. Later, a device locked on Lonergan's arm glows and expands, and he uses it to shoot down the ship.

As the ship was shot down, Lonergan pulls his pistol out, coming toward the wreckage with Dolarhyde. The townspeople stand nearby, and Sam Rockwell's Doc asks, "Is anyone in there? Is my wife in there?"

Another scene sees Dolarhyde planning to lead a search party, saying he agrees to go with Lonergan. However, he then hits Lonergan in the back of the head with his rifle, only to find Lonergan turns and punches Dolarhyde in the face.

In the last footage, many people are seen pulled up by thin lines from the alien ships. Ella, trying to save others, uses a pistol to shoot an alien glass sphere. Then, an army of men are seen on horseback riding across the plains, with several spaceships flying above them. The last footage also sees Lonergan leaping from a ledge onto the wing of a ship.

During the panel, director Jon Favreau said that he preferred not to show off the alien scene. The "Iron Man 2" director claimed there will be "the whole end of the movie with the aliens on the ground". However, he teased a brief look of the aliens. At the end of the footage, an alien is seen sticking a young child's face in and "roars" at him.

"Cowboys and Aliens" revolves around Lonergan, a mysterious gunslinger who is caught up in an Old West battle between the Apache and Western settlers that is interrupted by an alien invasion. The cowboys and Indians then team up to form a resistance against the aliens.

Also joining the cast for the upcoming movie are Noah Ringer, Ana de la Reguera, Heavy D, Paul Dano, Abigail Spencer, Keith Carradine, and Adam Beach. The film will hit theaters on July 29 Stateside.
