Details of Lady GaGa's Surprise 25th Birthday Party
Lady GaGa apparently takes the performer side of herself to the heart. The "Bad Romance" hitmaker, who turned 25 on Monday, March 28, celebrated her birthday with a surprise party thrown by her friends at a low-key Mexican restaurant, La Cita, in Los Angeles, and entertained them with a number of performances.
In front of around 60 close friends, the Grammy winner sang several Motley Crue and Madonna's hit songs as well as her single "Born This Way" accompanied by the restaurant's Mariachi band. Us Magazine has got a hold of the footage that captures her singing a rendition of her latest hit song.
It was noted that she was performing for most of the night. One source informed the magazine, "No one knew she was going to go up there and perform with them, I think she just loves to be on stage and doing what she does so well." Still, she did spend some time to mingle. "She was walking around saying hi to everyone. It was an amazing night," so said the source.
For the festive evening, GaGa wore a shimmering tight black dress. She also sported a blonde beehive. The publication additionally reported that the "Telephone" singer has several birthday cakes prepared for her.
On Monday, GaGa got a special phone call from Ellen DeGeneres wishing her a happy birthday. When she picked up the phone, Ellen was quick to sing, "GaGa you were born today, GaGa you were born today, GaGa you were born todaaaaaaaaay! No there ain't no other day, no there ain't no other day, you were born on Monday!"
To Ellen, GaGa explained that she is working in the studio with her producers to finish up her new album. Later on, Ellen presented the birthday girl with a "vegan cake" that is adorned with costume-inspired decorations as well as Kermit the Frog.
