Nate Dogg Saluted by Wiz Khalifa at SXSW Music Festival

The 'Rolling Papers' MC leads his devotees to sing Nate Dogg's most memorable verses when performing at Atlantic Records' 'Killers Lasers Papers'.

was one of the artists who performed at the recent Atlantic Records showcase during the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival in Austin, Texas. The Pittsburgh rapper delighted concertgoers by rapping a number of his songs before stopping the music near the end of his set to pay tribute to Nate Dogg.

The "Roll Up" MC, who won mtvU Woodie Awards' top honor at the music fest, called the late rapper one of his biggest heroes. He then made an impromptu tribute performance, leading his Taylor Gang to sing some of Nate's most memorable verses, including "Hey hey hey hey/ Smoke weed every day" from 's "The Next Episode." Wiz said, "Rest in peace, Nate Dogg."

The Atlantic Records showcase was dubbed "Killers Lasers Papers". The "Killers" was supposed to represent Green, and the "Lasers" was originally a reference to . Both of the artists unfortunately canceled their gig at the festivity, but the likes of and jumped to fill in for their absent labelmates.
