Some of NBC's Thursday comedy line-up have received the good news. The Peacock is renewing "The Office", "Parks and Recreation" and "Community" for the 2011-12 television season. "I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively," said Bob Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment.

"The Office", for one, has survived seven seasons and would be crossing its fingers that viewers will keep watching the show even after Steve Carell is gone. The comedy averages 7.7 million viewers and delivers a 4.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic this seventh season.

Meanwhile, "Parks" scores a 2.8 in the key demo and 5.5 million viewers in its third season. It showed an improvement in rating since it was moved to 9.30 P.M. and received a lead-in from "Office". Thus, if "Office" sans Michael Scott is down, there's a possibility that "Parks" will also suffer.

As for "Community", the show has been getting steady fan base although it was once playing against "The Big Bang Theory" and is now competing with "American Idol". This season, it has averaged a 2.1 in the 18-49 demo and 4.7 million viewers.

Before renewing these three shows, NBC has first given a green light to "30 Rock". In the meantime, the network is still mum on newbies "Outsourced" and "Perfect Couples".
