Tim Burton and Josh Brolin to Revive 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'

The twosome will team up to develop a big screen version of the classic novel by Victor Hugo with Brolin set to produce and star.

After making "", Tim Burton will take on another tale. The Hollywood Reporter says the filmmaker is teaming up with to bring back "" to the big screen again.

The project is developed at Warner Bros. Pictures with Kieran and Michele Mulroney, who write "", on board to script the new movie version of the classic novel. Brolin will produce and star in the film, but Burton's further commitment will reportedly depend on the outcome of the script.

"Hunchback" is based on an 1831 novel by Victor Hugo which tells the story of Quasimodo, a deformed and hunchbacked bell-ringer of the Norte Dame cathedral who tragically falls in love with beautiful gypsy named Esmerelda. It has been turned into several TV and movie projects, including a 1996 animated feature by Disney and a 1997 TV movie starring and .

Tim Burton's next directed film include "" and "". He is additionally attached to produce "". Josh Brolin, meanwhile, was last seen as the Oscar-nominated picture in "" and will star in "".
