Melissa Leo has additionally showed up on stage to pick up her best supporting actress prize for her role in 'The Fighter'.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards has just been kicked off on Sunday evening, February 27 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. After an opening from hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway, Tom Hanks takes the stage to announce the winner for the first two categories which are Achievement in Art Direction and Achievement in Cinematography.

"Alice in Wonderland" wins the art direction prize, thanks to Robert Stromberg and Karen O'Hara. "Inception" quickly follows it up with its win for best cinematography, an honor given to Wally Pfister.

Melissa Leo, who recently won Golden Globe award, also takes home a kudo that night as she is chosen as best supporting actress. She once again beats her own "The Fighter" co-star Amy Adams. "Really, really, really, truly wow ... I'm just shaking in my boots here," she says during her emotional speech. "It's about selling motion pictures and respecting the work."

"Toy Story 3" is another early winner at the 2011 Oscars, being crowned Best Animated Feature. "Friends with Benefits" stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake presented the award after unveiling "The Lost Thing" as Best Animated Short.
