Constance Meester who has a criminal past finds herself on the same path after a California woman filed a restraining order against her.

AceShowbiz - Leighton Meester's name is dragged inside a negative story after news about her manager mother's trouble surfaces. Constance Meester is accused of making death threats to a former friend and is now slapped with a restraining order.

A woman in California named Laurel Wigg said Constance told her on January 21 that she would "hunt and kill" her and her son. Wigg, whose kid goes to the same school as Constance's, further said in the legal documents filed at Los Angeles Superior Court that Constance "is an addict and has made a threat to kill."

Constance indeed had a dark past. She was convicted in 1985 on drug trafficking charges and served ten years in a Texas state prison for her involvement in a drug smuggling ring. Leighton was born while she was in jail, and the actress was raised by her grandmother until Constance's release in 1995.

Wigg is now granted a restraining order which will keep Constance 100 yards away from her. The order will expire in February next year.

Meanwhile, Leighton who is promoting her new film "The Roommate", is yet to comment on the story.
