"Jeepers Creepers" director Victor Salva is making a new nightmare film and is recruiting to become part of it. The "Charmed" actress has been tapped to star in "" which is promised to be as original as Salva's "Jeepers Creepers" franchise.

In the new movie, McGowan will play Doctor Sonny Blake, a radio talk show psychiatrist, who moves back to her childhood home after her alcoholic father dies. Once back in her old neighborhood she discovers the local paperboy is a frightening and cunning young sociopath that targeted her father and now targets her.

When the boy starts calling her show and recites eerie nursery rhymes, an unnerving game of cat-and-mouse begins. When the game escalates, she suddenly finds herself in a terrifying all out war, one that forces her to redefine her ideas of good and evil, and has her fighting to stay alive.

" 'Rosewood Lane' has been a pet project of mine for years now and what I have always regarded as one of my most terrifying stories," Salva says of his upcoming movie. "To see it finally come to life, is wonderful."

As for the lead star, producer Phillip B. Goldfine gushes, "Rose (McGowan) fully embodies the lead character (Sonny), and with her strong cult following I can see audiences as they enjoy watching the horrific experiences her character goes through." Emmy Award winner Goldfine will produce along with Don Fauntleroy.

Voltage Pictures is financing "Rosewood Lane" with Bryan Sexton and Benjamin F. Sacks executive producing under the Hollywood Media Bridge shingle. There is no start date yet for the film.

After ending her "Charmed" days, Rose McGowan appeared on small screen through her role of Dr. Theodora 'Teddy' Rowe on "". Her latest starring film was "" and she can next be seen in upcoming release "" in which she lands a supporting role.
