The pic from 'The Informers' co-writer would revolve around a hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire to a major ban.

AceShowbiz - With Al Pacino no longer attached, the producers of "Arbitrage" frantically searched for a replacement. The hunt is almost over with Richard Gere's name revealed to be on top of the list. Deadline said Gere is "near a deal" to star in the drama which also has Susan Sarandon and Eva Green.

Director Nicholas Jarecki is expected to begin shooting in mid-April in New York. Jarecki also wrote the script, about a troubled hedge fund magnate desperate to complete the sale of his trading empire before his fraud is revealed. But an unexpected, bloody error forces him to turn to the most unlikely corner for help.

Pacino was first attached to the role of the hedge fund magnate last year but he was reported quitting last month. Whether Gere is taking over that role or appearing in a supporting capacity isn't known as of press time.
