The ABC comedy gets a revenge from its Golden Globe loss to 'Glee' while 'Mad Men' continues to add trophies to its shelf.

AceShowbiz - "Modern Family" may be home empty-handed at the recent Golden Globes but it's winning at Producers Guild of America Awards. The ABC comedy earned its first trophy at the event, snatching the Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television - Comedy from Golden Globe winner "Glee".
Producer Steve Levitan took the lead in the acceptance speech, saying "When we set out to do this show two years ago, we didn't think there was any hope of a hit on network television, so we just did the best show we could." This victory also ends "30 Rock" two years streak as a winner.
Over in the drama category, "Mad Men" won for the third time in a row. Receiving the Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television - Drama, creator Matthew Weiner credited his partner Scott Hornbacher for making the show happen. "Mad Men" won over the likes of "Dexter" and "Lost".
Meanwhile, HBO's miniseries "The Pacific" received the nod for David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television. The production team which includes Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg beat the producers of fellow HBO programs like "Temple Grandin" and "You Don't Know Jack".
The other two categories Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television and Outstanding Producer of Live Entertainment and Competition Television were snatched by Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" and Comedy Channel's "The Colbert Report" respectively.
The prize-giving ceremony was held on Saturday, January 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and hosted by Judd Apatow. The PGA is also giving out honors for movie producers.
