'No Strings Attached' Kicks 'Green Hornet' From Box Office Peak

With only around $20 million opening cume, the R-rated film starring Natalie Portman beats out the action superhero movie which drops about 46 percent in ticket sales.

"" is the latest winner at North American Box Office in another week which sees little competition. The romantic comedy, which pairs up and , easily tops the chart although it only rakes in $19.6 million on its debut weekend.

Receiving mixed reviews, "No Strings Attached" earns $2 million more than most analysts projected with 70% of the audience made up of women. It comes out as no surprise since late January has traditionally been a strong time for romantic comedies with Valentine's Day a few weeks away and male moviegoers focusing on the NFL playoffs, USA Today says.

This week's chart also sees Portman's domination. Beside "No Strings Attached", her other film "" which led her to win Best Drama Actress award at Golden Globes is still on the top ten. It now sits on number six with $5.9 million.

The arrival of new champion forces "" to move to second place. It adds $17.7 million. "" also drops one place from number two to number three with $9.1 million cume.

Getting a boost from 's win at Golden Globes, "" sticks on the fourth spot with $7.8 million. "", meanwhile, drops from number three to five with $7.3 million tally.

*UPDATE: When the final figures came out on Monday, January 24, it turned out that "Little Fockers" earned more than "The Fighter". Therefore, the comedy now secured the seventh position on the chart, while the sports drama sat on the eighth.
