Executive producer Paul Lieberstein confirmed that the star of the British version is not available in a heavy dose in the January 27 episode.

AceShowbiz - Ricky Gervais, who was both criticized and praised as the host of recent Golden Globe Awards, will appear in the U.S. version of "The Office" this month. Fans of the NBC show have been dreaming of a cameo from the original "Office" star for years, but it is only now that it would happen.

NBC announced that Gervais' David Brent would appear in the January 27 episode called "The Seminar". The official synopsis which was released earlier may hint a bit about his entrance. "With Andy's sales at his lowest ever, he gets desperate and holds a small business seminar with the help of some special guests."

U.S. version star and producer Paul Lieberstein told Vulture that fans may want to glue their eyes on the screen if they don't want to miss Gervais. "It's a little more than if you blink, you'll miss it, but if you don't set your TiVo right, you'll miss it," he suggested.

Vulture also got the information that Gervais shot the episode back in September when he was in town for the Primetime Emmy Awards. Lieberstein added that there won't be a showdown between Steve Carell's Michael Scott and Brent. "It's outside of the office, and it's just the two of them interacting," he confirmed. "It's just a little nod to Steve and his final year."

Carell is not signing a new contract with the show and would leave in an April episode.
