Kylie Minogue Announces 2011 North American Tour Dates

January 11, 2011 (4:20 am) GMT
Toning down to smaller stage, the upcoming tour still 'promises to be a spectacle and will be grand and fabulous as all Kylie shows are.'

has mapped out a number of concerts for her forthcoming North American Tour. The Aussie singer/songwriter is going to kick it off on April 28 at Montreal Bell Centre before moving to Boston, New York City, Atlanta and other major towns in the country. She will stay on the road at least until May 22 in Las Vegas.

This is an extended leg to her "" tour which was opened in Europe last year. While the 2009 traveling show emphasized the use of "technologically advanced and extravagant stage" with a special "Fly System" which was inspired by "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" play, the U.S. gig will be smaller to create a more intimate space.

But there is no need to worry since "the show still promises to be a spectacle and will be grand and fabulous as all Kylie shows are." A source told Perez Hilton, "The North American dates will have their own special staging and surprises. It just isn't physically possible to bring the European stage into the U.S. venues in its whole. We just don't want people to buy tickets expecting the exact same production here and then be let down."

Kylie herself said, "The reaction to 'Aphrodite' has been absolutely incredible and has inspired me and my creative team to develop a new show that will take all of us on a euphoric journey of joy, excitement and glamour. I can't wait to get on the road and see all my fans in 2011."
