The 77-year-old was released after posting a $2,500 bond following his arrest in Sierra Blanca, Texas for allegedly possessing six ounces of marijuana.

AceShowbiz - Country legend Willie Nelson was arrested for allegedly possessing six ounces (170 grams) of marijuana, TMZ reported. The 77-year-old star was busted with the cannabis at 9:00 A.M. at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas on Friday morning, November 26.

When he was detained, Nelson was in his tour bus as he traveled from California to Austin. Furthermore, patrol spokesman Bill Brooks told CNN that Nelson was among three people arrested. The "Always on My Mind" singer was booked into the Hudspeth County Jail. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

However, this wasn't the first time Nelson landed trouble with the law on suspicion of drug possession. Earlier this year, six of Nelson's band and crew members were stopped in North Carolina for allegedly possessing moonshine and cannabis, Daily Mail reported.

And back in September 2006, Nelson and several of his bandmates were also arrested for drug possession when his tour bus was stopped in Saint Martin Parish, Louisiana and cops found about a pound-and-a-half of marijuana and magic mushrooms.
