is officially Nathan Drake in "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" that will reunite him with director David O. Russell. After few weeks ago he was rumored to star in the film, the actor himself now confirms to MTV that he indeed lands the lead role of Nathan Drake.

During the interview, Wahlberg also confirms rumor that and could star in the movie. "That's who he wants to write the parts for. I talked to Pesci about it and I know David's people have talked to [Robert De Niro]," he states.

As for what roles that would be portrayed by De Niro and Pesci, he shares, "I'm obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It's not going to be the watered-down version, that's for sure."

On the progress of the project itself, Wahlberg says Russell is currently writing. "David is one of the best writer/directors I've ever worked with," he further gushes. "The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."

"Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" will be Mark Wahlberg's fourth film with David O. Russell after they previously worked together on "Three Kings", "" and upcoming release "". The 39-year-old actor/producer had been rumored to star in "The Crow" remake but he recently clarified it, saying he is not attached to the project.

"Uncharted" is based on the acclaimed videogame series for PS3. Described as a sort of Indiana Jones adventure but is set in the present, the story follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake as he searched for the lost treasure of El Dorado. The search becomes competitive and dangerous when a rival hunter joins the fray and mutated creatures begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure's true secrets.
