'The King's Speech' Premiered at London Film Festival

The male stars, Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, go classy in conventional suits, while leading lady Helena Bonham Carter sports a funky plaid dress.

After making its way from one to another film festival in the U.S., "" has finally landed in England. The movie took part at the 54th BFI London Film Festival, being premiered at Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday, October 21.

and , who portray a royal family, made their red carpet appearances that night, joined by the depicter of the king's speech therapist, . Both actors played safe with their suits, while the actress looked chic in a Vivienne Westwood tartan-bodiced dress and a black silk full skirt.

Firth tagged along his wife Livia Giuggioli on the red carpet, while Carter got support from her filmmaker lover Tim Burton. Other celebrity couples at the "King's Speech" U.K. premiere were and as well as and wife Daniela Lavender, who were all coming as guests.

"The King's Speech" revolves around King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II, who reluctantly assumes the throne after his brother abdicates. The film focuses on his efforts to overcome a nervous stammer with the help of speech therapist Lionel Logue.

This Tom Hooper-directed drama was dubbed People's Choice at the 35th Annual Toronto International Film Festival and has been thrown as possible Oscar contender. The movie will grace limited U.S. theaters on November 26.
