Dakota Fanning Considers to 'Stay', Robert Downey Jr. May Be in 'Emergency'
Movie

The young blonde is in talks to star in Summit's supernatural 'If I Stay', while the actor possibly takes a role in the movie which he is producing.

AceShowbiz - Dakota Fanning and Robert Downey Jr. are mentioned among today's movie casting news. The former is said in talks with Summit Entertainment to join "If I Stay", while the latter is thrown as possible cast of "Emergency" as he has been set to produce the project.

"If I Stay" is based on Gayle Forman's novel of the same name and tells the story of classical musician Mia and her boyfriend Adam, who is a rising star in the indie rock world. Torn between two paths in life, her art and her relationship, Mia is forced to make a harder choice between life and death when she is caught in a fatal car accident with her family one snowy morning in Oregon. Fanning is likely to play Mia.

The movie was originally set to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke but "Adrift" helmer Heitor Dhalia is now set to take the duty after the "Twilight" director dropped out to make "Red Riding Hood". Shauna Cross is hired to write the screenplay for the supernatural film.

As for "Emergency", it is based on Neil Strauss' non-fiction book "Emergency!: This Book Will Save Your Life". Columbia Pictures has just nabbed the rights to the book, which is "a study in male panic". Downey Jr. might be seen as a paranoid survivalist who decides the only real response to all the economic disaster, terrorism, and cultural upheaval is to become completely self-sufficient. Allan Loeb pens the script.

Dakota Fanning has starred in Summit's "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" and "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". She recently also co-starred "Twilight" beauty Kristen Stewart in "The Runaways".

Robert Downey Jr., meanwhile, is currently shooting "Sherlock Holmes 2" and will be soon seen in "Due Date". His latest big screen appearance was in "Iron Man 2" which was released in May this year.
