Hugh Jackman Confirms Darren Aronofsky for 'Wolverine 2', Promises It Will Be 'Different'
Movie

The actor/producer hopes the 'Wolverine' sequel will 'be the best one' and claims that Aronofsky, who will direct the movie, is 'going to make it fantastic.'

AceShowbiz - Hugh Jackman is sort of confirming that Darren Aronofsky is on board to direct "Wolverine 2". Interviewed by New York Magazine's Vulture during Elton John's Enduring Vision gala, the actor who will also serve as producer for the project gushed, "[Aronofsky's] going to make it fantastic."

With the "Black Swan" helmer serving behind the lens, Jackman also promised that the follow-up to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" will not be "usual". "This is, hopefully for me, going to be out of the box. It's going to be the best one, I hope... Well, I would say that, but I really do feel that, and I feel this is going to be very different," he stated.

"This is Wolverine. This is not Popeye. He's kind of dark. But, you know, this is a change of pace. Chris McQuarrie, who wrote 'The Usual Suspects', has written the script, so that'll give you a good clue," Jackman explained more. Teasing further, he said, "There's going to be some meat on the bones. There will be something to think about as you leave the theater, for sure."

Shooting for "Wolverine 2" is scheduled to start in early 2011 and Jackman has been bulking up for his role of Logan aka Wolverine. "Expect to see four chicken breasts and a whole pile of steamed broccoli on my plate. I'm starting; I'm having my six meals a day," he said.

This upcoming action movie will reportedly be set in Japan and feature Wolverine dealing with ninjas as he struggles whether to follow his animal killer instincts or the life under a samurai's code of honor and respect. 20th Century Fox lines it up for 2012 release.
