Despite supported by A-listers, the action movie only collects half of the documentary's opening gross.

AceShowbiz - Another 3-D movie has successfully topped North American Box Office. "Jackass 3D", which combines crazy stunts and pranks with the visual treatment, rakes in $50.4 million on its debut weekend.

According to USA Today, the comedy also becomes the biggest October opening ever, the biggest October Friday and the biggest haul for midnight showings in October with $2.5 million. "We always knew we had something special here," says Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures, which distributes the film. "But the added dimension of 3-D did capture the imagination" of the audience.

Meanwhile, "Red" which boasts the performances of top-notch stars like Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren, debuts on number two with $21.8 million. Though so, Richie Fay, president of domestic distribution for Summit Entertainment, is still confident that the movie will perform well during the next weeks.

"Our audience isn't as impulsive as the 'Jackass' audience," he reasons, referring to the audience that mostly consists of older crowd. "There isn't that need to see it in the first weekend. We think that bodes well for the legs of this movie."

On number there is "The Social Network" which sat on the chart's peak for the last two weeks. The controversial drama adds $10.3 million to its domestic revenue. "Secretariat" drops one spot to number four with $9.3 million, followed by "Life as We Know It" which rakes in $8.9 million.
