AceShowbiz - On the heels of its limited release, "Welcome to the Rileys" teases audience with some fresh pictures. Still exposing lead actress Kristen Stewart, one of the photos captures her nearly topless in a scene with Melissa Leo standing next to her. The other new stills, which are debuted by HitFix, are less raunchy as Stewart is seen with her shirt on.
In the film, Stewart portrays Mallory, a troubled teenager who becomes a lap dancer as well as a prostitute. A grieving couple, Lois and Doug Riley, sees their late daughter in Mallory and tries to help her. The young woman, in return, unites the grieving couple who has drifted apart after the death of their daughter.
Despite Stewart's character, director Jake Scott has tried to convince that the movie "is not about a stripper. It's about a damaged child." Stewart additionally gushed, "The cool thing about my character is she is not sultry and she is not sexy. She sort of throws herself into all her moves. I tore myself up doing it."
Melissa Leo and James Gandolfini are taking the roles of the Riley couple in this Ken Hixon-scripted film. Premiered at 2010 Sundance Film Festival, the indie drama will open in selected U.S. theaters on October 29.
