Video Premiere: Joe McElderry's 'Ambitions'

September 24, 2010, 4:43 am GMT

In an effort to promote his newly-released single, the alum of 'The X Factor' debuts an all-singing, all-dancing music video.

Joe McElderry has premiered a music video in support of his new single "Ambitions". The 19-year-old performer walks his way on the streets of a city and, at some points, breaks into choreographed routine with a number of extras.

"They wanted me to just do a few hand gestures, but I wanted a full-on dance routine," the 2009 winner of "The X Factor" explained to the Mirror about the creative process of the video. "I made them get me a choreographer and everything." The clip reportedly was filmed at the Nu Boyana Film Studios in Bulgaria.

"Ambitions" is a song by Norwegian band Donkeyboy. The Joe McElderry cover version is confirmed to appear in his upcoming debut album "Wide Awake" which is due later this year. Previously, he re-recorded Miley Cyrus' ballad track "The Climb".
