Columbia Hires 'Disturbia' Scribe to Adapt R.L. Stine's 'Goosebumps'

However, there is no word on whether Carl Ellsworth will pen the script for a particular title from the horror series or if he will be doing an original tale.

Columbia Pictures has taken another step to materialize their plans to make a live-action feature adaptation of "". The Hollywood Reporter states that the studio has tapped Carl Ellsworth to write for the big screen version of the horror book series by R.L. Stine.

The popular kids novels consist of a number of titles with each having different story. It has not been known whether Ellsworth will adapt one title from the series or make an original tale. Since being picked up by Columbia in 2008, this feature film version of "Goosebumps" is believed to be a family-driven potential franchise.

Carl Ellsworth previously wrote for "", "" and "". He has additionally provided the screenplay for "" which is currently waiting for its release.
