Gabriela Cedillo has had the surgery on September 1 night following the accident which postpones the last day of filming in Chicago.

AceShowbiz - Shooting of "Transformers 3" on September 1 in Chicago went awry when an accident involving an extra happened. The woman, identified as Gabriela Cedillo, was airlifted to Loyola hospital in Indiana after a stunt went horribly wrong as she suffered serious head injury, abc7chicago.com reported.
Radar Online then got information that the 24-year-old aspiring actress had to undergo brain surgery. "She had to have brain surgery last night after the accident happened. We don't know how she is doing now, we're waiting to hear," said a source who works on the set. Indiana State Police additionally has told the Associated Press that Cedillo was in critical condition as of Thursday.
Cedillo, who was not part of the stunt team, was involved in the accident as she was behind the wheel of a car when an object smashed through her windshield. Authorities said in a statement, "Preliminary investigation revealed that shortly before 7 P.M, the movie crew was filming a stunt using numerous vehicles and drivers. During this stunt, an object struck a 2006 Toyota, hitting the vehicle, and then went through the windshield hitting the driver."
Fellow extra Blaine Baker added, "The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle. The cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull, apparently." Cedillo reportedly continued moving for almost a mile before it came to a complete stop.
The production of "Transformers 3" in Chicago was planned to end on Thursday, September 2. Following the accident, a senior member of the production team told FOX Chicago News that the last day of filming in the city has been postponed. As of press time, there has been no word on when the shooting will resume.
In another news, a new autobot has been spotted on the set of this third "Transformers" film. In a video embedded below, a black-fronted military transport is seen parked next to the red flamed semi-truck of Optimus Prime. A security guard points the never-before-seen vehicle and says it is "Sentinel Prime, Optimus' father," but The Transformers Live Action Movie Blog seems to think it is Rodimus Prime.
This follow-up to "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is made under the direction of Michael Bay. Starring Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the upcoming sci-fi action movie is projected to come out in the U.S. on July 1, 2011.
